With a view to bring about complete transformation of the urban areas of the State in the ‘Swarna Jayanti Varsh’ from November 1, 2016 to October 31, 2017, Haryana Government would implement three ambitious projects.

These projects included   housing for the shelter-less poor, street vendors looking for a place for their livelihood and improvement of 20 cities. The tender process for these projects would begin by the end of this month, said Urban local Bodies Minister, Kavita Jain, who was presiding over a high-level meeting.

Reviewing the steps taken by the Department to implement the Housing for All scheme, Kavita Jain directed the concerned officers to complete the tender process for hiring consultancy agency by the end of this month so that work to conduct survey for giving concrete shape to the scheme in cities earmarked under category I could be started in November.

In the first phase, work to construct houses for the homeless would be carried out in Faridabad, Karnal, Hisar, Yamunanagar, Rohtak, Gurgaon, Sonipat, Panipat, Ambala, Panchkula, Thanesar, Kaithal, Jind, Jhajjar, Rewari, Palwal, Narnaul, Nuh, Fatehabad and Bhiwani. Provision of Rs 7.65 crore and Rs 66 crore for this purpose has been made by the Central and State Governments, respectively.
