Haryana Development and Panchayats Minister OP Dhankar on Wednesday said that after setting an example of educated panchayats in the State, the Government has now taken an initiative towards making the Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRIs) Saksham and Samarth (capable and empowered).
In the same series, a Sammelan of representatives of PRIs would be organised in Bhiwani from October 7 to 9. The Chief Minister Manohar lal would be the chief guest of the Sammelan.
Dhankar said that while Sammelan on livelihood Mission would be held on October 7, Sammelan on Garvit would be organized on October 8. A sammelan of Sarpanches and representatives of Block Samitis and Zila Parishads would be organised on October 9.
He said that it has been decided to give each village, star of different colours in recognition of distinguished work done by them in various fields including cleanliness, Open Defecation free, good governance and 24 hours electricity. To build villages with seven star rating is our aim and the educated panchayats have a major role to play in this direction, he asserted. He added that star rating of all villages would be uploaded on the website of the Department.
