Hry to give exemption to sugarmills in purchase tax
The Chief Minister said that the State Government has decided to give full exemption to sugarmills in the state in payment of purchase tax. This has been decided to encourage them to purchase and crush more cane of the cane growers of the state and to provide some financial relief to them on account of losses being suffered by them. During cane crushing season 2014-15, the market price of sugar faced tremendous downward pressure and sugarmills across the state are facing severe financial crunch and are not in a position to even pay cane price arrears to the sugarcane suppliers of their area.
Besides, the Cabinet gave its ex-post facto approval to the scheme for providing financial assistance to private sugarmills for making pending payment to the cane growers in Haryana.
