The Haryana Government has decided to create a single source of resident data through a unified State Resident Database (SRDB) on the pattern of Government of Andhra Pradesh, where the Aadhaar-based eKYC enabled survey shall be conducted by using Android Tabs-the Jan Sewa Survey (JSS).
“This would be an extensive exercise involving about 15,000 enumerators in the field to complete the task in two to three months. The project is likely to commence from April 10,” said a spokesman of Haryana Electronics and Information Technology Department.
Notably, the initial version of State Resident Database (SRDB) is operational in Haryana and has about 1.58 crore citizen records form the Aadhaar repository.
The building up of the resident data that is being used for management of benefits is in line with the vision of Government of India.
About 29 e-Services of various Departments have been integrated with SRDB to exchange data. By using the SRDB, ineligible beneficiaries have been weeded out in distribution of Kerosene, Social Pensions and Scholarships leading to considerable savings for the state.
In addition, State Resident Data Hub (SRDH) has been set up, which is being used to perform seeding operation for various departments including Election, Education, Social Justice and Food Supplies.
