To evaluate the educational level of students in Haryana, examinations would be conducted every month after March under the ‘Sarva Siksha Abhiyan’. These examinations would be conducted from Class I onwards so as to improve educational level of students. Also, teachers from other schools would conduct these examinations instead of teachers of the concerned schools.

Haryana Chief Secretary DS Dhesi on Wednesday chaired a meeting of Executive Committee of ‘Sarva Siksha Abhiyan’ and reviewed various works being carried out under the Abhiyan in schools. During the meeting, it was apprised that Rs 919 crore were spent on various works under the Abhiyan during financial year 2014-15. Dhesi said that the district statistics should be checked from time to time for improving the educational level so as to overcome the shortage, if any, at the earliest.

He also directed to hold quarterly meetings of Sarva Siksha Abhiyan. Dhesi also gave directions to Additional Deputy Commissioners of all districts regarding their duties under the Abhiyan. As per the Annual Status of Education Report (ASER 2014) released last month, the performance of private schools was found to be much better than government schools in Haryana.
