'Haryana sold land to Reliance at throwaway prices'

Published on:

The Indian National lok Dal (INlD) on Friday alleged that Haryana Government had handed over the prime land of 1,383 acres in Gurgaon to Reliance at the throwaway prices on the name of SEZ, but the company failed to set up any SEZ on this land.

The party alleged that the chief minister is paying Rs 40 crore extra to the company to take back land from it to set up Global City and this is a big scam of Rs 1.5 lakh crore. INlD leader Abhay Singh Chautala and Ashok Arora demanded that as per new land acquisition policy and court’ directions the Government should return this land back to the farmers instead of setting up global city and selling it further to others.

Chautala added that the Punjab and Haryana High Court had earlier banned the Change of land Use on the January 23, as the Sub Regional Plan of the NCR planning board was not approved. But against the directions of the Court the State Government was planning to set up the global city before the imposition of Model Code of Conduct.
