Haryana RS poll: Blame game continues

A day before the hearing of Election Commission into the 'ink' controversy surrounding the Rajya Sabha elections in Haryana, the blame game among the political parties continued in the State.

While the Congress blamed the BJP led State Government and officers in Haryana Vidhan Sabha for hatching a conspiracy to ensure victory of media baron Subhash Chandra in the election, Indian National lok Dal has alleged that former Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda is involved in the conspiracy along with BJP and Chandra.

Talking to the mediapersons here, Haryana Congress chief Ashok Tanwar on Friday claimed that his party can prove that BJP and some officers were involved in the ink controversy and will soon expose them.

He added that Congress has already procured affidavits from its MlAs who have stated on oath that they voted for RK Anand, using the pen kept in the State Assembly voting compartment by the EC representative.

On the other hand, leader of opposition and INlD’s senior leader Abhay Singh Chautala alleged that former CM and Congress leader Bhupinder Singh Hooda along with BJP Government and Subhash Chandra are involved in hatching the whole conspiracy during Rajya Sabha polls when 14 votes were cancelled leading to the defeat of INlD and Congress supported lawyer RK Anand.

Barring one MlA who had openly switched sides and backed Chandra in the June 11 Rajya Sabha polls, main opposition INlD has also procured affidavits from all its remaining 18 legislators in the 90-member Assembly.

last week, Congress, INlD and candidate RK Anand had moved EC, alleging someone had changed the original pen provided by the election officials with another one for a while which resulted in some votes being declared as invalid during Rajya Sabha poll held on June 11 for the two seats from Haryana.

The Election Commission had on Wednesday, deferred the hearing till Saturday due to the absence of Subhash Chandra.
