NO POSSIBILITY OF CURFEW IN WORST AFFECTED DISTRICTS, SAYS HARYANA CM
Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal on Sunday denied the possibility of imposing curfew in the worst affected districts in the state.
“Things are getting back on the track in the state. In such a situation, we do not want to create panic among people by imposing curfew restrictions,” Manohar Lal said while talking to the mediapersons here.
He said that the districts namely Gurugram, Faridabad, Sonepat, Rohtak, Rewari have reported the maximum number of positive cases. The surge in cases is reported from few pockets and such areas are made containment zones and screening and testing of people is being increased there.
The State Government is also focusing to ensure that Covid-19 safety protocols like social distancing and wearing a mask are being followed by people, he said.
We are testing more number of people hence more cases are being reported every day in the state. We have also started rapid antigen test, Manohar Lal added.
Talking about the current situation in the state, the Chief Minister said, “There was a time when Haryana’s recovery rate had declined to 30-32 percent but now the recovery rate stands at 75.65 percent. The fatality rate should be below one percent but it is 1.33 percent in Haryana. We are making efforts to bring it down, he added.
Notably, Home Minister Anil Vij had last week hinted at imposing stricter curbs in the worst-affected areas to stem the spread of the virus.
Of the over 26000 cases in the state, three districts alone--Gurugram, Faridabad and Sonipat, all of which fall in the NCR, have contributed to 16599 of the cases.
