Haryana Power discoms have signed a Memorandum of Understating (MoU) with Energy Efficiency Services ltd (EESl) with a view to implement energy efficient lighting programme in the State.

Giving details, Special Secretary Power and Managing Director, Uttar Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigan, Nitin Yadav on Monday said that the initiative has been taken to provide lED bulbs to its domestic consumers under all the operation circles at highly discounted prices with a motive to reduce the peak demand and eventually reduction of annual energy consumption of the State.

The lED bulb consumes a fraction of energy as compared to the ordinary bulb with a better output and each lED bulb outlasts about 30 ordinary bulbs, said he.

He further stated that the consumer would be able to buy at the maximum 10 lED bulbs at an estimated cost of Rs 100 per lED bulb with a warranty of three years at the counters established for the purpose all over its operation circles.  This cost of providing lED to the consumers is much less then the prevalent rates for the same in the market.

Energy Efficiency Services limited is a joint venture of PSUs of Ministry of Power, Government of India and is promoting the installation of efficient lighting programme in the country.
