Haryana Government has set a target to link all gram panchayats with e-Panchayat by the year 2015-16. Haryana Additional Chief Secretary, Development and Panchayats, Navraj Sandhu in a meeting with officers concerned with rural development said that the state government would recruit 2,200 data entry operators for assistance of Gram Sachivs’, who would carry out the work of gram panchayat on computers alongwith maintaining the accounts. The data entry operators would work under Gram Sachivs’, but Gram Sachiv would be accountable for work. She said that laptops would also be provided to Gram Sachivs’ and they should be trained to operate the e-Panchayat software.
