To develop various programmes as part of the golden jubilee celebrations of the State and make the event a grand success, the Haryana Government has notified a society — ‘Swaran Jayanti Celebrations Authority of Haryana’, which would have its registered office in Panchkula.
The society would undertake conceptualisation, planning, designing, execution and development of various programmes relating to the Haryana Swaran Jayanti celebrations, said an official spokesman. The society would encourage the private sector to take up various programmes during the golden jubilee year and contribute financially to the celebration programmes. It would encourage and support local bodies and Panchayati Raj Institutions to take up various programmes during the year and involve mass participation in such programmes, he said.
The society would also organise various programmes involving mass participation during the year. Besides, various programmes would be organised for the promotion of brand image of Haryana, its glorious art and culture, rich heritage and history, progress and development, literature and language in various parts of the country and abroad.
It would also execute various policies, programmes and decisions taken by the state level Swaran Jayanti Celebration Committee, and would enter into contracts to take up various activities for organising the Swaran Jayanti celebrations.
The spokesman said that while the Chief Minister Manohar lal, would serve as president of the society, Sports and Youth Affairs Minister, Anil Vij, would be the vice-president.
The founder members include Finance Minister, Capt. Abhimanyu, Development and Panchayat Minister Om Prakash Dhankar, Administrative Secretary, Panchayat and Development Department, Navraj Sandhu, Administrative Secretary, Public Works (Buildings and Roads) Department Hardeep Kumar, Administrative Secretary, Town and Country Planning Department, P Raghavendra Rao, Administrative Secretary, Sports and Youth Affairs KK Khandelwal, Administrative Secretary, Finance Department Sanjeev Kaushal among others.
