Haryana mulls State level control room for ultrasound reports

Haryana Health Minister Anil Vij on Wednesday said that the State Government is considering to set up a state-level control room for preparation of ultrasound reports.

The Health Minister said that with a view to overcome the shortage of radiologists in the State, technicians working in hospitals would be provided six months’ training for conducting ultrasound tests at PGIMS, Rohtak.

He said that these trained technicians would conduct ultrasounds and send the results to the control room, where radiologists would prepare reports and send them to the respective hospitals. This would help doctors in the districts to provide appropriate treatment to the patients, said he.

The Minister had earlier announced that to meet the shortage of doctors in the State, Haryana Government is considering a proposal to increase their age limit to 62 years. Also, directions have been issued to prepare proposal for the promotion of doctors to the post of Civil Surgeon.

Haryana Government would also form a cadre of specialised doctors  under which specialised doctors would be recruited. Besides this, an Ayurvedic doctor, one MBBS doctor and one BDS doctor are being posted in all 550 Primary Health Centres (PHCs) in rural areas, Vij had said.
