After BJP’s humiliating defeat in Delhi Assembly polls, senior party leader and Haryana Cabinet Minister Anij Vij on Tuesday criticised his party and said that they should not have “imported leaders” in Delhi.
In a tweet that is not likely to go down well with his party members, the BJP MlA from Ambala Cantt said, “If the party had concentrated on building leaders rather than importing them, then this would not have been the position of the party in Delhi.” The tweet came following the landslide victory of AAP in Delhi which won 67 seats defeating BJP, which could mange to win only three seats.
Days ahead of the Delhi Assembly polls, Kiran Bedi, a former IPS officer and a core team member of Anna Hazare's India Against Corruption, was named as party’s chief ministerial candidate. Apart from her, former AAP leader Shazia Ilmi, former UPA Cabinet Minister and Congress leader Krishna Tirath among others had joined BJP.
A few days back, Anil Vij while taking a dig at Aam Aadmi Party’s chief Arvind Kejriwal had termed “AAP as All Arab Party.” Prior to the election, Vij had also claimed easy victory of BJP in Delhi elections and had stated that there is a storm in favour of BJP in Delhi and people have already seen Kejriwal’s drama.
Previously, the five-time member of legislative assembly had in a tweet insinuated that efforts were on to make him change his style of functioning. On completion of the 100 days of BJP government in Haryana, he had tweeted, “Some people want to stop me from working in my own way, but they will never succeed. I will continue to work in my own style.”
With his no-nonsense approach and different style of working, the Minister continues to hit the headlines time and again. From his surprise raids at hospitals to his missives to the Chief Minister, Haryana Health, Sports and Youth Affairs Minister Vij has been in the limelight since the formation of BJP led State Government in Haryana.
