Haryana Min denies corruption charges

A day after Punjab and Haryana High Court issued a notice to Haryana’s Public Health Engineering Minister Ghanshyam Saraf and Panipat MlA Rohita Rewri in an alleged corruption case, the Minister has denied the allegations leveled by the petitioner.

Saraf while talking to the mediapersons said that the allegations leveled by XEN Sajjan Singh lohan are wrong. Sajjan has made such allegations earlier also, said the Minister

The High Court had on Wednesday put the Minister, Panipat MlA apart from Haryana Government on notice on a petition filed by Sajjan Singh lohan, an executive engineer of public health engineering department.

The petitioner had alleged that the minister had transferred him out of Bhiwani for not signing bogus bills amounting to Rs 33 lakh of a contractor close to the Minister.

The case would not come up for hearing on May 13.

It was alleged that under the pressure of Saraf and Panipat MlA Rohita Rewri, the petitioner had again been transferred from Panipat to Kaithal in April.

It was also submitted in the Court that after the petitioner was posted out of Bhiwani, the alleged bogus bills amounting to crores were cleared by posting a junior officer than him at Bhiwani. The Minister, however, denied the allegations leveled by Sajjan Singh and said that an inquiry has already been done into the allegations of bogus bills. There is no truth in the allegations, he added.

Haryana BJP president Subhash Barala has also come to the rescue of the Minister. Talking to the mediapersons, Barala on Thursday claimed that it is an attempt to defame the State Government. Saraf has done nothing wrong and is innocent, said he.

On the other hand, the opposition parties, Congress and INlD have pitched up the ante against the ruling BJP and demanded action against the Minister in the alleged corruption case.

Haryana Congress chief Ashok Tanwar alleged that the BJP ministers are involved in corruption and have no interest in public welfare.

On the other hand, leader of opposition in State Assembly and INlD’s senior leader Abhay Chautala said that the government should look into the corruption allegations seriously and inquiry should be conducted against the guilty.
