The Haryana Government on Wednesday issued orders to re-engage the services of terminated surplus guest teachers following Supreme Courts orders.
More than 3,500 guest teachers would be benefitted with the decision.
“In view of the orders passed by the Supreme Court on July 11, Haryana Government has decided to re-engage the services of terminated surplus guest teachers who were on the rolls on March 31, 2016,” said an official spokesman.
He said that the terminated guest teachers would be re-engaged on a case to case basis where workload and vacancies are available. However, preference of station may be given where they were earlier posted keeping the workload and vacancy position in view.
If there is no workload or vacancy in the school where the guest teacher was working before the termination, s/he may be appointed in the nearest school having workload and vacancy, he said.
The services of such guest teachers can be terminated at any time as and when any fresh direction comes from the Apex Court or when regular teachers become available, whichever is earlier, said he.
In no circumstance, a person other than these guest teachers who were in service on March 31, 2016 and whose services were terminated in view of the High Court order dated May 13, 2016 will be given appointment.
