Haryana Government is investigating thousands of recruitments that were made by the previous Congress Government in Haryana led by Bhupinder Singh Hooda. Chief Minister Manohar lal Khattar while talking to the mediapersons in Ambala on Thursday said that irregularities committed in the recruitment procedure during the tenure of the previous Government are being investigated.

He said that appointment letters have been issued to the Patwaris (village accountants) whereas the selection of JBT (junior basic teacher) teachers is being investigated. “Justice would be provided to those candidates, who are found to be genuine (in selection),” he added.

The Chief Minister said that Haryana Government would soon fill up 47,000 vacancies in various Government departments in the State. “Apart from following the legal process, complete transparency and fairness would be ensured,” said he.

On being asked about the reports of having differences with Health, Sports and Youth Affairs Minister Anil Vij, the Chief Minister denied any such reports and said that he (Vij) frequently used to visit his residence to meet him before he took over as the Chief Minister of state. He said that all Ministers and MlAs are working together for the welfare of the State and its people.

When asked about the dismal performance of the BJP in Delhi Assembly elections, he said that mandate given by the public is acceptable to all in democracy. The party leadership is reviewing the reasons behind the party’s performance in Delhi elections and wherever shortcomings are found in the strategy, efforts would be made to remove them, he added.

In reply to another question, he said that investigation is going on in MNREGA scam and cases have been registered against the officers and officials found involved in it. Apart from this, if names of more such officers cropped up during the investigation, they would not be spared.

About his Ambala visit, he said that he is visiting every district and holding meetings with the officers to review the working of various departments. During this, he also apprised the officers about the vision of his Government. So far, he has presided over such meetings in 20 districts and with today’s meeting at Ambala, first phase of this programme has been completed, he added.

On making Ambala Cantt as free-hold, Manohar lal said that entire issue was being reviewed and soon a decision would be taken in this regard. The government resources were being mobilized to ensure speedy development of the state and to make available better facilities to the people, he added.
