Haryana hospitals to have ICUs

Published on:

Intensive Care Units (ICUs) would be developed in each hospital of Haryana with the capacity having 10 per cent of total beds under a hospital.

Haryana Health Minister Anil Vij has issued directions to the Health Department for taking appropriate actions in this regard. This would be done keeping in view the existing bed capacity of various hospitals or Community Health Centres.

An acute shortage of beds was noticed during inspection of various hospitals, in view of which, directions were issued to form a committee to carry out a thorough survey to ascertain the requirement of additional beds in all hospitals, said a spokesperson of the Haryana Government.

He said the committee would submit its report within one month along with the suggestions particularly showing that as to whether there is a necessity of extra space or building or only beds are to be provided.
