Haryana Health Minister Anil Vij on Tuesday recommended suspension of two senior doctors of Post-Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences (PGIMS), Rohtak, over the delay in providing ambulance service to former Chief Minister late Hukam Singh. Vij announced the decision to recommend suspension of PGIMS Rohtak Director Rohtas Yadav and Senior Prof Dhruv Choudhary, after receiving a probe report from Pradeep Kasni, Director General and Secretary of the Medical Education and Research Department.
On February 26, Hukam Singh (89) who was the Chief Minister of the State during 1990-91, passed away at a private hospital in Gurgaon. Earlier, Singh was admitted to the PGIMS in Rohtak on February 12 for an ailment.
Two days after his death, Vij had ordered probe into the circumstances after Singh’s family had alleged that they had to wait for more than three hours for an ambulance to shift the former CM to Medanta Hospital in Gurgaon from PGIMS Rohtak.
The Minister had earlier said that he was not satisfied with the inquiry report sent by the Rohtak PGIMS director after Singh’s family levelled the allegations of negligence. Dr Rohtas Yadav had earlier maintained that there was no delay in providing the ambulance to the former CM.
