The Manohar lal Khattar Government in Haryana has decided to purchase a 10-seater King Air B-250 aircraft at a cost of around Rs 40.63 crore for providing services to the VVIPs including Governor, Chief Minster and other dignitaries in the State.

Besides, the State Government will also purchase three small Cessna-172 S JTA training aircrafts in a bid to impart ultra-modern flying training facilities to the youth in the state, said Haryana Civil Aviation Minister, Rao Narbir Singh on Tuesday.

He said that a sum of over Rs 316 crore would be spent on purchase of three small Cessna-172 S JTA training aircrafts, whereas 10-seater King Air B-250 aircraft would be purchased at an estimated cost of US $62,50,000 (Rs 40.63 cr), which was presently being used by the government in the states of Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Uttrakhand, Maharashtra and Chattishgarh.

All the formalities have been completed in this direction, the Minister said.

He said that presently, the State Government has a twin-engine helicopter to provide air services to the Governor, Chief Minister and other dignitaries.

The Government had purchased an aircraft in 2005. But the Government’s 10-seater aircraft — Beech Super King Air B-200 — was damaged in a crash at Chandigarh airport on March 27 in 2014. The then Governor Jagannath Pahadia, his wife, and eight others on board had a miraculous escape in the crash.

The Minister added that under the Regional Connectivity Scheme-UDAN, M/S Pinnacle Airlines had already consented to give its services at Hisar Airport from June 2018 onward.
