He said that a total of 2,900 applications have been approved by the Deputy Commissioners for installation of Telecom Towers and laying of Optical Fiber Cable. Besides this, 312 applications have been pending for the last 45 days. Now only 6.90 percent applications are pending in the state.

The applications related to installation of telecom towers and approval for installation of optical fiber cable are pending in some districts. If any operator is unable to submit the documents and fee etc., then his/her application should be cancelled.
Kaushal also directed the Deputy Commissioners that no operator's application should be cancelled with immediate effect to clear the pending applications. Efforts must be made to get his application completed by contacting him. The Chief Secretary also sought the district wise status of pending Telecom Tower applications from all Deputy Commissioners and directed them to settle it at the earliest. Deputy Commissioner should contact the Telecom Department to get the tower installed immediately in areas facing connectivity issues
The Chief Secretary said that telecom towers should be installed immediately in the districts still facing connectivity issues, be it mobile or internet networks. All the Deputy Commissioners must identify such places and directly contact the Department of Telecom, Government of India, he added.
