The Haryana Government will disburse various types of pensions and allowances under social security schemes through branches of Central Cooperative Banks. Haryana Minister of State for Cooperation, Bikram Singh Yadav on Wednesday said there are 594 branches of District Central Cooperative Banks in the State, out of which 465 branches are located in rural areas and 129 branches in urban areas.

He said pensions and allowances would be disbursed through 102 branches of these banks where exclusive branches of these banks are located and in 492 branches where there are multiple branches of banks on sharing basis. The implementation of this scheme will improve financial health of Central Cooperative Banks to a greater extent, he added.

Yadav expressed gratitude towards Chief Minister Manohar lal for allotting disbursement work of pensions and allowances to Cooperative Banks. He also assured that Cooperative Banks would complete this task enthusiastically, honestly and in a transparent manner.

The state government had last year decided that all the beneficiaries will get pension through bank accounts from February 2015. The Chief Minister had said that every household will have a bank account as per the policy of Central government and Pradhan Mantri Jan-Dhan Yojna has been launched to meet this purpose. Distribution of pensions through bank accounts will also check any type of irregularities.
