Haryana Government has decided to conduct special girdawari (crop loss assessment) in the areas affected by pest attacks (whitefly and leaf curl virus) to ascertain damage to Cotton, Bajra and other crops, and complete the same immediately.
An official spokesman of State Government on Friday said the result of the special girdawari has to be sent to the State Government through Divisional Commissioner in the specified performa.
He said that the field formations have been asked to provide the information relating to damage to crops of Cotton, Guar and Bajra in irrigated and non-irrigated areas. It has also been directed that while conducting special girdawari, Agriculture Development Officer of the circle and Gram Sachiv of the village concerned should also be associated.
To ensure greater transparency in ‘crop damage assessment’, it has been directed that Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM) and District Revenue Officers (DROs) concerned should organize camps at village level to apprise the farmers of the procedure being adopted while conducting special girdawari. Due publicity should also be given while conducting special Girdawari to ensure transparency, said he.
