Haryana Government has geared up for the implementation of proposed Good and Services Tax (GST) from July 1 onwards.
The State Excise and Taxation Department has asked all the departments to provide list of such items which they thinks fit for inclusion in the list of exempted services of proposed GST by June 8 so that further action could be taken accordingly.
A meeting was held for the preparation of GST implementation in the state. During the meeting, the Department has decided to set up a help desk at state headquarter to facilitate the registration of government departments with GST portal, said an official spokesman.
The enrollment window would open for tax-payers for GST registration on June 19. He said all the departments which are required to deduct tax should get them registered under GST through common national portal www.gst.gov.in to obtain GSTIN.
The Government departments were required to deduct tax at the rate of one percent each for Central GST and State GST from the payment made by the Government department to suppliers of taxable goods or services or both where total value of such supply under the contract exceeds 2.5 lakh.
The Department concerned would have to deposit the deducted amount to the government within 10 days after the end of the month of deduction.
