Haryana Government on Friday extended the term of Justice SN Dhingra (retd) Commission of Enquiry upto June 30.
The Commission is probing into the alleged illegal land deals including controversial land deal involving Congress president Sonia Gandhi’s son-in-law Robert Vadra and real estate player DlF during the previous Congress regime in the state.
A notification to this effect was issued by the Chief Secretary on Thursday. As per the terms and conditions of its constitution, the Commission was supposed to submit its report by June 7. last year, six months extension from December 8, 2015 to June 7, 2016 was given to the Commission. The one-man Commission was formed in May last year by BJP led Haryana Government to probe the land deals in Gurgaon's Sector 83 and it had begun probe into the alleged land deals in the month of June. Initially, the probe was limited to only Sector 83 but in August, Sectors 78 to 86 of Gurgaon were added to the ambit of probe.
Gurgaon joint commissioner of police Saurabh Singh was attached to the Inquiry Commission for necessary assistance.Vadra and others were allegedly granted favours by the previous Congress Government. In Vadra's case, the licences were allegedly issued within a short time.

The role of officers in the grant of licences is also looked into by the Commission.
Earlier this week, Indian National lok Dal leader and Hisar MP Dushyant Chautala had alleged that the commission is "unconstitutional" as the assembly's approval was not obtained to constitute it.
He had also accused the BJP Government in Haryana of not being serious in probing the shady land deals inked during the previous Congress rule in the state. Former Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda was called by the commission twice, but till date he has not appeared since he knows the commission has no constitutional sanction, the Hisar MP had alleged
