Haryana Government is considering to restart examination from Class I to VIII in the State which was abolished by the previous Congress Government.

The recent results of Class X and XII standards have shown the adverse affects of abolishing examination system, said Haryana Chief Minister Manohar lal on Monday.

The Chief Minister while addressing the mediapersons after visiting Gita Niketan Residential Schools at Kurukshetra said that with a view to ensure improvement in teaching level in the schools, quality improvement programme through remedial teaching would be implemented on priority basis. Monthly test scheme has been introduced in schools to improve the education level of students.  Apart from this, teacher’s diary has been made mandatory to create a sense of self discipline. 1

Notably, the overall pass percentage was just 41.28 for Class X and 53.96 per cent in the senior secondary (class XII) examinations declared in Haryana this month. The girl candidates had fared better than their boy counterparts.

The pass percentage for girls in the secondary examination was 64.5 percent, while the boys had recorded a pass percentage of 45.88 percent. In the senior secondary examination, the girls recorded a pass percentage of 44.6 percent and the boys managed to get a pass percentage of 38.4 percent.

Manohar lal said that previous government had never paid any heed to education sector. The present government wants to make  future citizens educated and was, therefore, seriously working in this direction. The education level in the state is being improved gradually. For this, State government would obtain assistance of private educational institutes and  educationists, said he.
