The Haryana government is eyeing an investment of Rs 1 lakh crore in the Global City project in Gurugram which will come up over about 1,080 acres of land.

Addressing a press conference here in Chandigarh on Thursday, Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar, who during his recent Dubai visit also garnered investments for this project, said the project is being developed by Haryana State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation (HSIIDC).

Khattar said that the Global City is a mixed land-use township being developed over nearly 1,080 acres to redefine the concept of urban development and what cities of the future shall look like through its sustainability-focused future-oriented infrastructure planning and design.

He said the work related to the Global City being developed over approximately 1,080 acres in Gurugram would be completed at the earliest. "A single-window system would be adopted to execute all the works related to this. All companies with whom talks have been held regarding these projects have demanded that the work that is to be done through the government should be completed at the earliest," he added.

The Chief Minister said that for this project, the industries will not have to make rounds to get electricity, water, and any other permission, as all these will be given through the single-window system. He assured the companies that they will not face any difficulty while working on the project. Also the companies will have to show the progress of construction within three years, he added.

"Talks have been held with eight placement companies to provide employment opportunities to the youth. Talks are also being held with companies for providing skilled and semi-skilled manpower from Haryana. We are ready to even impart necessary training," he said. The government is ready to extend cooperation to these companies willing to set up their skill training centres in Haryana, said the Chief Minister.

Responding to a question, Khattar said that 5.50 lakh employment opportunities have been generated in the state because of foreign and national investments. New companies are constantly buying land in Haryana for investment. Haryana has become a favourable investment destination for investors. With the advent of companies, employment opportunities will also increase, said Khattar.

The Chief Minister said that new projects are being started continuously around Kundli-Manesar-Palwal (KMP). The government will buy land for new projects through e-bhoomi and Land Pooling Policy.

For Jungle Safari, 6000 acres of land earmarked in Gurugram while 4000 acres in Nuh

Khattar said that the State is all set to develop the world's largest jungle safari park on an area of 10,000 acres in the Aravalli mountain range of Gurugram and Nuh districts. For this, 6000 acres of land have been identified in Gurugram and 4000 acres have been identified in Nuh. This project will be the largest such project in the world.

Currently, the largest curated safari park outside Africa is in Sharjah on an area of about 2000 acres. However this  Aravalli Park would be 5 times more this size. This jungle safari park will have 10 zones and it would include a large herbarium, aviary/bird park, four zones for big cats, a large area for herbivores, an area for exotic animal birds, an underwater world, nature trails, visitors, tourism zones, botanical gardens, biomes, equatorial, tropical, coastal, desert, etc.

The development of this Jungle Safari scheme will not only give a major boost to tourism in the State but it will also provide ample employment opportunities to the local people. The Central Zoo Authority has done an evaluation study of the area for this and has agreed upon the technical feasibility of setting up such a park.

"The Aravalli mountain range is a cultural heritage where many species of birds, wild animals, butterflies, etc. are found. In this jungle safari, 180 species of birds, 15 species of mammals, 29 species of aquatic animals and reptiles and 57 species of butterflies that exist in the Aravalli mountain range will be included in this safari, informed Khattar.
