After allegations leveled by Hisar INlD MP Dushyant Chautala, Haryana Government on Thursday claimed that no teachers have been recruited through outsourcing agency in the state.
Refuting recruitment of teachers through outsourcing, Additional Chief Secretary, School Education Department, Dheera Khandelwal claimed that only multi-purpose workers of Group D were recruited through outsourcing. No teacher or clerks had been recruited through outsourcing and would not be recruited in future also, she said while talking to the mediapersons here to highlight the achievements of Education Department.
When asked whether the recruitment process has been put on hold, Dheera Khandelwal said that following the reports of recruitments done by taking money, we have stopped the recruitment of multi- purpose workers and also directed for departmental enquiry in this matter.
On a question related to number of recruitments through outsourcing, she said that about 750 multi- purpose workers of Group D had been recruited through this medium and the news of recruitment of teachers through outsourcing is baseless. At present, there is zero vacancy in JBT in the state, she added.
Dushyant Chautala had recently alleged that the State Government has handed over the task of recruiting primary teachers to private firms. Besides taking 2.01 per cent commission from the government, the companies are also charging from the candidates, Chautala had alleged.
After the allegations, the Chief Minister Manohar lal had convened a meeting of Education Department to review the recruitment process and directed to put on hold the entire process and get an inquiry conducted into the matter.
On a question related to poor results of students in class 10th and 12th classes this year, Dheera Khandelwal said that the Department is focusing on the training of teaching and rationalization of staff and merging of students in schools as per the requirement. We have analyzed the reasons behind the dismal results and now, we are focusing on improving the quality of education in government schools, she added.
Notably, around half of the students in class 10th in Haryana had failed to pass the examination this year. The overall pass percentage in the secondary examination was only 51.15 percent in the results announced in May this year. On the other hand, the pass percentage in class 12th stood at 63.84 percent.
At present, more than 21 lakh students are enrolled upto class 12th in the state-run schools.
