Ahead of the panchayat elections, Haryana discoms have opened 246 special counters/desks at sub division level throughout the State for issuing the ‘No Dues Certificate’ to contesting candidates.
The Haryana Government has made ‘No Dues Certificate’ from Power Department a mandatory requirement for the candidate filing nominations in the forthcoming panchayat elections.
A spokesperson on Power Discoms (Uttar Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam and Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam) on Wednesday said that the special counters are opened to give hassle free services to the prospective candidates in panchayat elections.
For the purpose, the UHBVN officials have prepared and updated the defaulter list and it will be ensured that the candidate filing nominations in the Panchayat elections have cleared their dues towards their premises before getting NOC/ no dues certificates, said he.
The candidates are required to submit the copy of ration card with details of their family members so as to process the NOC for their candidature in panchayat election. The Nigam would immediately issue the ‘No Dues Certificate’ after depositing the defaulting amount if any, added the spokesperson.
