Haryana Government on Wednesday directed all its departments to ensure official work in Hindi language, which is the official language of the State. An official spokesman on Wednesday said that Hindi is the official language of Haryana and orders have already been issued through written communications dated May 25, 1993 and October 6, 1999 to all offices to work in Hindi.
However, it had been brought to the notice of the State Government that forms related to various departments, commissions and educational institutions are available only in English language due to which people face problems in understanding them completely, said he. A written communication to this effect has been sent by the office of Chief Secretary to all Heads of Departments and they have been directed to strictly comply with these orders. In case of non-compliance of these orders, action would be initiated against the guilty officers and officials, said he.
The spokesman said that it has decided that all departments, commissions, committees and educational institutions should get translated all forms and applications related to their departments in Hindi and English languages and ensure their availability on departmental websites.
According to the Rule 11 of the Rules, 1976 of the Central Government, it is mandatory to have all kind of forms in all Central Government offices, enterprises, banks, authorities and commissions in Hindi language, said he.
