The Haryana Government has directed all line departments of the State Government to work towards ensuring cyber security, as the security of the State and the country depend on strong data protection infrastructure.
Chief Secretary DS Dhesi was speaking at a workshop on ‘Digital and Cyber Space’ for senior officers of the State Government said that cyber crime is increasing by the day with the development and launch of a large number of new applications every day.
Therefore, a lot of work is required to be done to ensure security of data, he said adding Haryana is a leader in terms of provision of e-Services to the citizens. These e-Services include centralised ‘e-Procurement portal’ launched to act as a single-window clearance and monitoring system for all goods, stores, works and services, and e-Tendering for allotment of liquor retail outlets in the State.
He said that nine mandis of Haryana State Agricultural Marketing Board have been made online.
He said that e-Procurement for paddy would begin in the coming Kharif procurement season. Under this, online rates would be provided to farmers in different mandis to ensure best rates for their produce. The e-Procurement would be launched in 31 mandis and a target has been fixed to cover 108 mandis in the State under this system by 2017. Many Central Government programmes and schemes were also online, he added.
