A delegation from Commonwealth Parliamentary Association (CPA), Haryana Branch, comprising Speaker, Haryana Vidhan Sabha Kanwar Pal, Deputy Speaker Santosh Yadav and Secretary RK Nandal on Tuesday left for london, United Kingdom, to attend the 62nd Commonwealth Parliamentary Conference being organised there from December 13 to 17.
A spokesman of the Vidhan Sabha said that in connection with the CPA Conference, the delegation would also undertake official study tour to Toronto, los Angeles and Paris from December 18 to 29. He said that the Commonwealth Parliamentary Conference and the CWP Triennial Conference of Commonwealth Women Parliamentarians is being held at london.
Discussion on various topics would be held in the conference such as ‘Ending political violence against women and girls’. The impact on social media and the internet in perpetrating violence, the role of parliamentarians in implementing and monitoring policies relevant to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the media plays a large role in public mistrust of parliamentarians, added the spokesman.
