Haryana Government has declared Welfare of Scheduled Castes and Backward Classes Department as nodal department and constituted State level Review Committee under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary, DS Dhesi for monitoring of Scheduled Castes Sub-Plan (SCSP) schemes.
The State Government had a day before constituted nodal agency under the chairmanship of the Minister, Social Welfare (Welfare of Scheduled Castes and Backward Classes) for implementation and monitoring of Scheduled Castes Sub-Plan (SCSP).
An official spokesman said that the State level Review Committee would include as members all Administrative Secretaries concerned with SCSP. Administrative Secretary, Welfare of Scheduled Castes and Backward Classes Department would serve as Member Secretary, said he.
He said that the functions of the committee included estimation of the gaps in development of Scheduled Castes and others with the help of line departments. It would prioritise the development needs of the Scheduled Castes in consultation with the primary stakeholders.
The committee would also design schemes that have the potential to accelerate the development of Scheduled Castes and bridge the gaps in development in a time-bound manner. It would also prepare the sub-plan consisting of the scheduled castes sub-plan schemes after due appraisal. Meetings of the committee would be convened biannually, he added.
