Haryana Cong: Modi's 1-year rule a big disappointment

Haryana Congress has described one-year rule of BJP-led NDA Government as “totally disappointing, frustrating and a huge let-down for the people” who had brought Narendra Modi to power with high hopes and great expectations.

The Modi Government has miserably failed to fulfill even a single promise and its graph is heading south, and people have already begun to realise their mistake in reposing faith in him as well as in the BJP, said Kiran Choudhry, leader of Haryana Congress legislature Party on Monday.

The former Excise and Taxation minister said, “From any standpoint, be it economy, improving people’s lives, polity or foreign affairs, the Modi Government has failed to deliver. The efforts made are half-hearted, and the pace of change seems to be struck with polio. The PM has subjected everything to politics which is a surefire way of making politics trump everything, including peace and progress,” she remarked.

The farmers have suffered the maximum in the last one year. The BJP has gone back on its promise to implement the Swaminathan Commission report. Instead farmers have been subjected to torture and made to brave police lathis at a time when they needed succor, having suffered huge damage to their crops due to unseasonal rains and hailstorms, she added.

Chaudhry said, “The plight of people is no better. While the prices of diesel have come down internationally, the Modi government has hiked fuel price twice in one week. Worse still, the level of social discourse has dipped to a new low with loud-mouthed BJP hot heads PM has failed to rein in, resorting to bile-spewing, spitting venom and causing tensions.”

On foreign front, the jet-setting PM has been to 18 countries in one year and heads for Bangladesh and Russia in June and July, but the follow-up shows where we stand. He meets Obama in US and within 48 hours, the latter issues a statement backing Pakistan. The PM lavishes Gujarati dishes on the Chinese PM, but, on his return, he sends PlA troops marching into Arunachal Pradesh, she pointed out. Now, people have started asking when will the ‘Achee Din’ BJP has been and keeps promising, come,” added Choudhry.
