Haryana Congress MlA Karan Dalal on Wednesday demanded resignation of Finance Minister Capt. Abhimanyu alleging his role in a mining scam and a vigilance inquiry to expose the truth into entire scam.
The Congress leader while talking to the mediapersons accused the Finance Minister Capt Abhimanyu of using his influence to serve his business interests in the mining sector of the state.
Dalal said that he had written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi with details of the minister’s “misdemeanours” and has received a communication from Union Ministry that inquiry would be conducted into the scam.
He alleged that transmission works running into crores had been allotted to a company owned by the Minister’s family, in violation of the rules.
Demanding resignation of Finance Minister on the issue, the Congress MlA claimed that after his letter to PM, the Chief Secretary has been directed to conduct an inquiry into the matter. An officer cannot conduct inquiry of Minister so it should be given to vigilance department, he added.
Recently, in a letter to Additional Chief Secretary, Mining and Geology, Chief Secretary D S Dhesi had directed that a report to be filed into the complaint of misuse of office against Capt. Abhimayu.
Meanwhile, the Finance Minister has denied the allegations levelled by Dalal.
