In a bid to enable the students to imbibe the importance of practicing safety norms while driving on the roads, the Haryana colleges will now have road safety clubs.
All the Principals have been directed to appoint a road safety nodal officer in their colleges, said a spokesman of Higher Education Department.
He said that they would also send the contact details or email ids of nodal officer to the higher authority. Apart from this, Road Safety Institute Head or Convener, Senior Faculty Member, Regional eminent person and senior students would also be appointed as members of the clubs, he said. A Road Safety Ambassador would also be appointed in every class. Awareness talks about road safety and traffic rules quiz for students would be organized in the road safety clubs.
