Haryana Chief Minister Manohar lal Khattar on Thursday urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to sanction an aviation hub in Hisar to cater to the requirements of the Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) Facility as well as Fixed Base Operations (FBO) and Aerospace Park.

This hub would boost the economic development of the state, said Manohar lal Khattar while speaking at the public rally in Sonipat.

Following the foundation stone laying ceremony of three major projects in Sonipat by Prime Minister, Haryana Chief Minister said that these projects would be a Diwali gift not only for the people of Haryana but also for Delhi, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh.

These projects included Western Peripheral Expressway, Eastern Peripheral Expressway and eight-laning of Highway Section from Mukarba Chowk (Delhi) to Panipat.

The Chief Minister thanked the Central Government for giving a gift of road projects costing over Rs32,000 crore in a year to Haryana.

He said that the 924-km long nine national highways have been sanctioned for Haryana. Apart from this, three big rail projects have also been approved for Haryana in the previous rail budget.

Khattar said that during last 48 years, only 67 ROBs/RUBs had been constructed in the State whereas during last one and half years of the BJP-led Central Government, 53 ROBs/RUBs have been constructed.

While reiterating his commitment for providing a graft-free administration in the State, he said that during last one year of the present State Government, we have implemented 52 schemes for ensuring transparency and promptness in the governance and also to ensure the welfare of people belonging to all sections of the society.

Presenting his State Government’s one year report card on the occasion, the Chief Minister said that Women Police Station have been established at all district headquarters, new licensing Policy, New Enterprises Promotion Policy have been announced among other initiatives. Speaking on the occasion, Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways and Shipping, Nitin Gadkari highlighted various road and highway projects being undertaken by the Ministry.

He said that the length of national highways would be increased from 96,000-km to 1.5 lakh Km by December 2015. Apart from this, the single roads would be made double laned, 2-lanes into 4-lanes, 4-lanes to 6 and 8 lanes.

The Union Minister added that Haryana Government has restarted the work of Western Peripheral Expressway which was stalled for years. This project, on completion would provide high-speed link of northern Haryana with its southern districts like Gurgaon, Faridabad and Palwal and would help in de-congestion of National Capital Territory (NCT) of Delhi as the traffic from the northern parts of the country to other regions need not have to pass through this area, thus reducing pollution considerably, he added.

He assured the Prime Minister that his Ministry would provide direct and indirect employment to 50 lakh youth in next five years.

Haryana Governor Prof Kaptan Singh Solanki, Union Minister for Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Birender Singh, Union Minister of State for Planning and Defence Rao Inderjit Singh among other senior BJP leaders were present on the occasion.
