Haryana CM hits out at Congress

Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal on Monday said that the ongoing Lok Sabha elections are different from the past elections as it is a contest between the BJP which has ensured all round development and the opposition Congress which misled the people through its promises including the Garibi Hatao slogan.

Manohar Lal addressed two Vijay Sankalp rallies at Kalanaur in Rohtak district and Bhawani Khera in adjoining Bhiwani district on Monday.

Speaking at Kalanaur, Manohar Lal said that the BJP had five years back made promises which have been fulfilled resulting in upliftment of the poor and the other sections of the society.

He said that the Prime Minister Narendra Modi understood the pain of the poor and started various development programmes including Ayushman Bharat Yojna, providing cooking gas cylinders free to the poor, ensuring electricity to all the homes and provision of toilet facilities in the houses of the poor.

Manohar Lal said that the BJP government has eliminated the culture of middlemen and agents by bringing in transparency in the working of the government and its departments.

The government is collecting data of all households. Soon time will come when government officials will visit your home and tell you about various schemes from which each individual can benefit, he added.

Without referring to the duo of former Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda and his son Deepender, Manohar Lal said that the father-son dynastic politics has to be ended.

The Chief Minister said that former PM Jawaharlal Nehru announced eradication of poverty, but it remains as such and now the fourth generation Gandhi family member, Rahul Gandhi has again given the Garibi Hatao slogan.

He said that Rahul Gandhi should not be addressed as ‘Pappu’ as he is national president of Congress – the main opposition party of the country.

Taking a dig at the Congress leaders and workers, he said that they has no faith in the supremo (Rahul Gandhi) of their party. Rahul Gandhi and Narendra Modi cannot be compared, he said adding that they are poles apart.

Later addressing the Vijay Sankalp Rally at Bhawani Khera, Manohar Lal said that the BJP will give a strong and stable government after the counting of votes on May 23.

Manohar Lal said that the voice of the Congress, which is helping the enemies, has to be ended. Opposition cast aspersions on the actions of the defence forces, he said claiming that the Congress is trying to weaken the defence personnel’s morale.

Speaking at the rally, Union Steel Minister Birendar Singh said that he first contested the election in 1972. Previously elections were fought on caste consideration, but in this election the scenario is totally different.

In this election neither caste, nor religion, nor area nor the family lineage is being considered. There is only one agenda of development, he claimed.
