Haryana Chief Minister Manohar lal on Sunday urged the people to give the gift of sight by pledging to donate their eyes.
The Chief Minister, who flagged off blindfold rally for awareness of blindness control under Cornea Andhatv Mukt Bharat Abhiyan in Karnal, also pledged to donate his eyes on the occasion.
The Chief Minister said that Karnal should be adopted as pilot district under the campaign so that about 700 blind persons in the district may be gifted the gift of sight through eye donation over the next two years.
Manohar lal also lauded social service organisations and volunteer organisations for their exemplary work for the betterment of the society, and urged them to continue their efforts.
