Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal and Deputy Chief Minister Dushyant Chautala on Monday extended warm wishes and congratulated CRPF personnel on the occasion of 82nd Foundation Day of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF).

In a message issued here, the Chief Minister said that CRPF is the oldest of the Central Paramilitary Forces in the country. On this day, in the year 1939, CRPF was formed. Later, it was entrusted with internal security as well as prevention of subversive activities. Today, the soldiers of this force are also showing bravery in defeating Naxalite activities, he said.

The Chief Minister said every tenth soldier in the Indian Army is from Haryana, despite the fact that the State represents less than two per cent of the country’s population.

He said the Central paramilitary forces like CRPF, Border Security Force, Central Industrial Security Force, Indo-Tibetan Border Police Force and Sashastra Seema Bal also have a large number of personnel from Haryana.

Considering this, State Government has set up a separate Department of Sainik and Ardh Sainik Welfare for the welfare of the personnel of these forces and their families, the Chief Minister added.

He also hoped that CRPF would always remain at the forefront for safeguarding Nation’s interest.

In a tweet, Deputy Chief Minister Dushyant Chautala congratulated all CRPF personnel on the 82nd Raising Day of this outstanding force. He said the CRPF plays a vital role in protecting the nation. The courage and ability of the CRPF is praiseworthy, he added.
