Haryana Minister of State for Cooperation, Manish Kumar Grover on Tuesday hailed SC’s directions and said the people of Haryana would get their due share of river waters through the SYl canal.
Talking to mediapersons after an informal Cabinet meeting on Tuesday, the Minister said at the meeting of Ministers, discussion was held regarding the directions of the Supreme Court to the Punjab Government for construction of the canal.
There is no shortage of funds with the Haryana Government for construction of the canal, said he.
Referring to the Apex Court directions to the Punjab Government to get the canal constructed first, and thereafter the issue of water would be taken up, Grover said it would be safe to conclude that the final decision on the waters issue would also favour Haryana.
The court has fixedSeptember 7, 2017 as the date for next hearing, he added.
