After deciding to replace the lights of the entire building of Haryana Civil Secretariat with lED lights so as to save electricity, Haryana Government has now made it mandatory for the colonisers to install lED lights in the upcoming and existing projects in the State.

In the orders issued by Haryana Town and Country Planning Department, the colonizers/owners have been asked to install lED instead of CFls in the buildings.

The orders stated, ‘It is hereby directed that henceforth following condition shall be inserted in the zoning plans of licenced colonies as well as ClU granted sites. The owner shall ensure the installation of light-emitting diode lamps (lED) for its campus as well as building.

The implementation of these conditions shall be ensured at the time of grant of occupation certificate. Further, colonizer/owner can also install light-emitting diode lamps (lED) instead of compact fluorescent lamps (CFl) in the existing projects for internal lighting as well as street lighting, stated the orders.
