In view of the prevailing heatwave across the northern region, Haryana Government has issued instructions to grant 15 days holiday to children in Anganwadi centres across the State.
Besides, ration of 15 days will also be released to the children in advance, said State Women and Child Development Minister, Kavita Jain on Wednesday.
The Minister said presently, the average temperature was ranging between 40 and 45 degrees, which could have an adverse impact on the health of children. Keeping this in view, instructions have been issued to observe holidays in all Anganwadi centers across the state from June 16 to 30, she said.
Jain further said that during these holidays, lumpsum quantity of ration for 15 days would be made available to eligible children.
The Anganwadi workers and helpers would utilise this time to complete their registers, carry out ‘swachhta’ campaign, conduct house-to-house visits and other surveys, and also prepare a draft for future preparations for the children, she added.
