Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar and his Himachal counterpart Jai Ram Thakur on Monday reached Varanasi to attend the BJP’s two-day conclave.

The Prime Minister Narendra Modi will also attend the event aimed at showcasing the best governance-related practices from the party-ruled states. The Chief Ministers of 12 BJP-ruled states and nine Deputy Chief Ministers are scheduled to participate in the event to deliberate over a wide range of subjects relating to governance.

Such a conclave is being held in Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh for the first time, and the inaugural session will be addressed by BJP president JP Nadda while PM Modi will deliver the valedictory address.

The Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar posted a picture on Twitter attending ‘Ganga aarti’ along with PM Modi on Monday evening. They also witnessed a laser light show at Ganga Ghat.

A video of Khattar expressing happiness over the illuminated view during the Ganga Aarti in Varanasi was also released.

Earlier in the day, the Prime Minister had inaugurated the Kashi Vishwanath Corridor connecting the ancient Kashi Vishwanath Temple in Varanasi to the Ghats of the Ganga.

Hailing the decision of inaugurating Kashi Vishwanath Corridor in Varanasi by Prime Minister, Khattar tweeted, “Kashi, the mythical city situated on the banks of Maa Ganga, has been the carrier of our eternal culture, spirituality, antiquity and tradition since ages. By inaugurating this corridor, Sh. Narendra Modi has created a historical golden chapter by showing devotion to religion (sic).”
