Shiromani Akali Dal MP from Bathinda Harsimrat Kaur Badal on Sunday strongly urged the Centre to ‘immediately’ announce the project to tackle the problem of water logging in the state as ‘national project’ besides releasing the package of Rs 960.62 crore without any delay.
Harsimrat, presiding over Sangat Darshan programs to resolve on-the-spot grievances of people, said that it was Punjab which brought out the country from food crisis after Independence and made the country self sufficient on this front.
“Now, the Centre should adopt proactive approach to help the Punjab Government to resolve this enormous menace on priority. Centre should immediately release the requisite funds for this purpose besides announcing it a national project,” she added.
