Haryana Space Application Centre (HARSAC) has developed a mobile application for reporting of crop residue burning cases in the state.

“Any officer or official or anybody from the public would be able to use this app for reporting the incidence of crop residue burning anywhere in Haryana,” said an official spokesman

The application could be downloaded by using link (hrsdi.in-Active Crop Fire location - > Download AFl), he said.

He added that the initiative would minimize the toxic smog in or around the state and thereby would minimize the respiratory diseases due to this.

Recently, the state Environment Department had initiated action to prevent the burning of wheat residue in the fields. So far, 35 cases have been registered in the state and a penalty of Rs 27,500 has been imposed on the farmers engaged in burning of crop residues.

last year, 1,147 cases of burning of wheat remains were reported in which Hisar, Jind, Karnal, Sirsa and Sonipat were ahead with burning cases of 201, 117, 251, 174 and 193 respectively.
