With a view to improve quality of fruits and vegetables, the Haryana State Cooperative Apex (HARCO) Bank has launched two new schemes to provide loans to cooperative societies of vegetable and fruit growers and women cooperative societies.
The schemes also aim to develop a system benefiting both producers and consumers, and to ensure social and economic upliftment of women, said Haryana Minister of State for Cooperation, Manish Kumar Grover.
He said both schemes, which have been prepared as per announcement of Chief Minister, Manohar lal, would be implemented through all District Central Cooperative Banks in the state.
Grover said that the upper limit of the loan would be Rs five lakh or ten times the share capital of the society, whichever is less. The societies would not have to deposit security for loans up to `5 lakh, and loans could be taken against guarantee of two responsible persons of the village or town, said he.
The Minister said the District Central Cooperative Banks would disburse the loan amount of `5 lakh. The State Government would contribute a subsidy of `1 lakh or 20 per cent of the loan, whichever is less.
The scheme for provision of loans to the societies has been devised so that the farmers in the State could avail the various incentives offered by the Government and other related agencies from time-to-time in the form of subsidies and grants, he added.
