Haryana Governor Kaptan Singh Solanki on Monday reiterated the State Government’s commitment to obtain its legitimate share of Ravi-Beas waters and the completion of the Satluj-Yamuna link (SYl) canal.
During his 44 pages address to the Haryana Assembly on the first day of Budget Session, the Governor said, “Haryana Government is committed towards obtaining its legitimate share of the Ravi-Beas waters and completion of the Satluj-Yamuna link (SYl) Canal.”
During his address, the Governor also patted Haryana Government for its role during riots and caste violence during Jat reservation stir even as the BJP led Governor failed miserably to contain the violence during the agitation.
The State Government is fully aware of the losses suffered by many during the recent unrest. While no amount of monetary compensation can undo the complete loss caused, prompt disbursement of assistance surely provides immediate succour, said he.
He added, “The Government has undertaken swift enumeration and assessment work. Interim financial assistance of Rs 24.38 crore has already been provided to 1,817 claimants, including rehriwalas, small vendors and marginal traders.
Upto March 12, 2016, the government completely settled claims up to Rs 50,000 in respect of 501 families, including rehriwalas, small vendors and small shopkeepers, the Governor added.
