Guv Patil mum on resignation

Punjab Governor and UT Administrator Shivraj Patil on Thursday refrained from commenting on the issue of his resignation from the post.

As many Congress-appointed Governors are expected to put in their papers in the comings days after the NDA Government came to power, there is speculation that Punjab Governor and UT Administrator Patil is also likely to resign soon. When asked about his resignation on Thursday, he refused to comment.

On UT Master Plan, Patil while talking to the mediapersons after AAC meeting said, “The meeting was successful and many members gave their suggestions. Another meeting would be convened between June 27 to 30 to discuss the Master Plan and after finalization, the plan will be sent to the Centre for final nod.”  Without naming anyone, Patil added that the members who could not attend the meeting can send their recommendations whenever they want. Their recommendations will be considered by the Administration, he added.

Around 6 members including city MP Kirron Kher could not attend the AAC meet on Thursday.
