Exhorting the people of Amritsar to ‘vote for themselves’ as they were the aam aadmi, actress-turned-AAP candidate for Chandigarh Gul Panag, waved to the cheering crowd in Amritsar throughout her roadshow spanning the entire city with AAP’s Amritsar candidate Dr Daljit Singh.

She said both the SAD-BJP, combined with the Congress, have been playing ping-pong ball with the people of Punjab for decades. “Now is the time to give them a karara jawab’ (stinging reply).”

Impressed by the enthusiasm of the locals she said, “While these traditional parties have paid workers, paid news and even  paid for agendas, the AAP will follow its clean uncorrupted politics and walk the path of truth without fear”.

Talking about AAP candidate from Amritsar Dr Daljit Singh she said, “A new breeze is blowing in favour of clean candidates and this is the first time you have a choice in your city where one of the topmost surgeons of the world is willing to work for you. His contribution to the society is immense, and now he is focused to serve the people of this city with utmost sincerity, give him your vote and we shall show you how Governments can work better on clean and progressive agendas”.

Taking about the BJP, Gul said if they could sideline stalwart and senior party leaders like Jaswant Singh and lK Advani what chance does Arun Jaitley have. She asked, “What has Arun Jaitley or former CM Capt Amarinder Singh done in their personal capacities or even when their respective Governments were in power in Punjab for the people of Amritsar. “As soon as they get your vote they shall only do only one act — the vanishing act.”

She asked all those who have had no faith in voting all these years to come out this time and show their strength for a candidate of their own city and of their own soil. “Both the Congress or the BJP-SAD are birds of the same feather and things will never change if ‘We’ do not work towards that change.”

Panag urged the youth to come out in great numbers and put to practice the lessons of honesty taught in schools and colleges and throw out those who have merely thought of sabotaging their futures by detrimental policies of appeasement. “There is a strong anti-incumbency wave in Punjab — A State which has always been a frontrunner in all revolutions. Punjabis have sacrificed for India’s freedom and now they must use the same strength and tempo to win the freedom from those who have looted you without shame.”

Sitting in an open Jeep in a blue kurta and jeans, she  waved to the cheering crowd followed by a rally of motorbikes along with AAP’s lS candidate  from  Amritsar Dr Daljit Singh, Gul Panag was in front of a  huge wave of youth, many were first-time female voters, who cheered for her all the way.The road rally commenced with seeking blessings from father of the nation Mahatma Gandhi’s statue at Ram Bagh. A large crowd had gathered there long before Gul arrived. Wearing the quintessential AAP topi and her trademark, dimpled smile Gul addressed the crowd that went with her from Company Bagh to Majitha Road, bypass, Ratan Singh Chowk, Kacheri or Saifudinn Kitchloo Chowk to court Road, Crystal Chowk to Bhandari Bridge, Hall Gate to DAV College then Hathi Gate, lahori Gate , back to Hall Gate then Golden Temple with namskar to Jallianwala Bagh, Sultanwind, Islamabad, Putlighar, Gawalmandi Gillwali Gate.
