Haryana Education Minister Ram Bilas Sharma on Wednesday said that guidelines have been issued to concerned officials to conduct school inspections so as to replicate good academic practices in low performing schools and bring such schools on track.
To keep a check on the students’ performance of Government schools, the Minister said that officers of the School Education Department have been directed to upload on a regular basis the monthly assessment test results of students of classes IX to XII studying in Government schools in the state.
These officials have been warned that negligence in this regard would not be tolerated, said the Minister.
He said that while two monthly assessment tests have so far been conducted in government schools, many schools have still not uploaded the results of any test, which reflected the apathy of the heads of these schools towards their work.
About school inspections, the Minister said that priority for inspecting schools should be based on their academic performance. lowest performing schools should be on highest priority for inspection because such schools need immediate remedial measures, said he.
To help officers identify low performing schools, the Department had created a priority list of low performing schools for each block based on March 2016 assessment test and Class X Board examination results.
